Inspection

Commercial and
residential building inspector. Services performed
include: Structural inspection including foundation,
framing, roof, basement, attic, exterior and
interior walls and ceiling and grading. Mechanical
inspections include heating, cooling, electrical and
plumbing. Consulting service for home and building
owners include review of their drawings,
construction techniques, pertaining codes,
contractor quality, fair pricing, construction
draws, and in-progress inspections for client.

Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees)

Duties included the efficient
and safe operation of ten to one hundred men
detachments at various construction projects around
the world. Responsibilities included planning and
estimating from blueprints for projects, material
takeoffs from drawing, site preparation, material
procurement, on-site supervision, quality control,
and military code inspections. Final responsibility
for the project being on time and within the budget
restraints set forth by superiors.
St. Joseph Structural Steel
Construction Supervisor

Duties included supervision
of the fabrication and erection of steel buildings,
towers, and bridges. Responsibilities included
quality control, material delivery, drawing
interpretations, weld and joint inspection,
timekeeping, safety programs, and code requirements.
Teaching Experience
Teaching experience has come
from being an on-site supervisor for a structural
crew with both formal and on-the-job classes in
areas such as safety, quality-control, and technical
training.
As part of my leadership
skills in the Navy Seabees, I served as training
officer from 1989 to 1990. Instructional
responsibilities included: implementation of a
comprehensive training program for a detachment of
one hundred men. This program included such
curriculum as safety, quality-control, technical
skills, and interpersonal skills. Administrative
duties included: documentation, report writing,
advancement exam reporting, and submitting monthly
training reports.
As a professional home
inspector, my teaching experience has been seminars
for realtors, presentations for the Midwest Pro-ASHI
Chapter, serving as a code instructor for
Professional Training Associates, a home inspection
training school located in Kansas City, and
providing on-the-job experience for a new inspector
joining our firm.
